TRANSPORTATION AND ACCESS: Milton is situated in the Greater
Boston Area, which has excellen trail, air, and highway facilities.
State Route 128 and Interstate Route 495 divide the region into
inner and outer zones, which are connected by numerous "spokes"
providing direct access to the airport, port, and intermodal facilities
of Boston.
Major Highways: Principal highways are State Routes 28 and 138
and Interstate Route 93, which shares the same roadway with State
Routes 3 and 128.
Rail: Commuter rail service to South Station, Boston from the
Fairmount Station in Hyde Park (travel time: 16 min.; 33 MBTA parking
spaces) and from the Morton Street Station in Mattapan (travel time:
12min.; no MBTA parking) and from Adams Street at Eliot in Milton.

Bus: Milton is a member of the Massachusetts Bay Transit
Authority (MBTA) which provides fixed route bus service to Ashmont
& Mattapan Stations on the Red Line. The MBTA also provides THE
RIDE, a paratransit service for the elderly and disabled. Hudson
bus lines provides service to Mattapan Station on the Red Line.
Other: The Norwood Memorial Airport, a Reliever (RL) facility,
is easily accessible. It has 2 asphalt runways 4, 001' x 150' and
4,007' x 150'. Instrument approaches available: Non-precision.
